Skip's BagelDeli

In my opinion, one of the most underrated pleasures in life is a good sandwich. And what makes for better sandwich bread than a bagel? So, when my mom heard about Skip’s BagelDeli, I knew I had to try it. It was another one of those restaurants located in a strip of stores near the Loveland area. All the bagel options and pastries are on display near the entrance, along with a drink cooler and a chip selection before you even get to the order counter. They had a wide variety of sandwiches, ranging from hot, to cold, to what they called their “Deli Lites”, along with wraps and a make your own sandwich option. They also had a decent breakfast selection, but that’ll be for another day. After looking over their menu, I chose the Turkey Del Cabo on a plain bagel. I feel like it’s only appropriate to talk first about the bagel. I don’t know what it is, but when the bagels are made fresh, you can tell. I’ve only had fresh bagels twice in my life, once at a café in New Orleans, and now here. The bagels were so good that we ended up buying a few just to take home. The sandwich was made up of turkey, bacon, muenster cheese, tomato, spinach, avocado, and chipotle mayo. Every flavor came together extremely well, with the right balance. I also tried some of the chicken chili my mom ordered, which was also delicious. I also want to point out the wide variety of house made cream cheeses, which included apple cinnamon and chocolate chip. They also have an apple cinnamon bagel, which was one of the bagels we ended up bringing home. I liked the atmosphere of the place. It was casual, but not in any way like a fast-food restaurant. Just in a less formal sort of way with low lighting and TVs playing sports channels. My only regret is not trying any of the other pastries that were on display. Oh well, there’s always next time.
